Updates

Escape Grid is worked on continuously by one developer. Every batch of shipped changes is written up here, newest first, including the fixes — if something was broken, it says so.

About, contact and level guides

  • Added an about page covering who builds the game and how levels are designed and verified.
  • Added a contact page explaining the fastest route for bugs, purchases and account requests.
  • Added written guides for the milestone levels — 1, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 160 — covering what each board tests, without giving the solution away.
  • Started this release-notes page.

Faster shared links

  • Opening a challenge link is two to three times faster: the lookup and the abuse check now run together instead of one after the other.
  • The puzzle loads in the background while the challenge card is on screen, so Accept starts play immediately.

Score and reward integrity

  • Daily submissions are now strictly one board for the server's own date — the puzzle can no longer be chosen by the client.
  • Classic is one level per submission; Rush, Endless and events keep multi-board runs but cannot repeat or skip boards.
  • Leaderboard, daily-best and event points are written in single atomic steps, so repeated or simultaneous requests cannot inflate a score.
  • Retried submissions now pay their reward once.
  • Added automated cheat-attempt tests covering nineteen tampering scenarios.

Hint and leaderboard fixes

  • Fixed hints in Rush and Live Events: the hint was taken off screen but never charged to the account, so it returned after a reload.
  • Fixed the leaderboard showing an empty board when the score read was refused; rankings return again and a failure now surfaces as an error instead of silence.

Level completion polish

  • Removed the membership prompt that appeared after every third level; finishing a level now goes straight to the celebration and results.
  • Rebuilt the Escaped! animation as one timed sequence, which removes the flicker and stutter it had.

Landing page and load speed

  • Reworked the start page so Play Level 1, the three key facts and the playable demo board all fit on the first screen on phones and laptops.
  • Advertising scripts no longer block the first paint — the page becomes playable first.

15 puzzle solver

  • Added a working 15 puzzle solver: enter a scrambled board and get the shortest sequence of slides, played back one move at a time.
  • The solver tells you honestly when a board is mathematically unsolvable rather than searching forever.
  • Added a Klotski guide covering the original puzzle and how it differs from Escape Grid.

Daily rewards saved to your account

  • Fixed daily login chest, ad-doubled and season pass rewards being added on screen only — coins, gems and hints now save to your account and survive a reload.
  • Added the blog and the first guides for online puzzle games, free browser games and brain games.

Challenge a friend

  • Added challenge links: finish a level, share the link, and your friend plays the identical board with your moves and time to beat — no account needed on either side.
  • Results are verified on the server, so a challenge cannot be won by editing anything in the browser.
