Escape Grid level 1: First Escape
Level 1 exists to teach one thing: a piece only moves along its own axis, and an empty cell is only useful if the right piece can reach it.

Mechanics in play: Basic sliding, Vertical blockers. This guide explains what the board tests and which piece to look at first — it does not list the move sequence. Use the in-game hint if you want the next optimal move revealed.
Read the exit lane first
The red target block sits in the middle row with its exit on the right edge of the same row. Before touching anything, run your eye from the block to that exit and note every piece standing in the way. On this board there is only one, which is exactly why it is level 1 — the habit of looking at the lane before moving is worth more here than the solution is.
Only one piece is in your way
The blocker is a vertical piece, so it cannot step sideways out of the lane; it has to travel up or down until it clears the row. Look at the cells above and below it and pick the direction with room. The two other pieces on the board never touch the lane at all — they are there so the board does not look empty, and learning to ignore irrelevant pieces is part of the point.
Move the target last
Slide the blocker clear, then send the red block right in one drag. On a phone you do not need small careful drags: a piece travels to the furthest legal cell in the direction you flick it, so one confident swipe is enough.
Getting three stars
Par is four moves. Three stars need par; you will almost certainly get them first try, and that is deliberate — the difficulty curve starts properly around level 12.
